BCATYouth Arts & Advocacy Council is seeking proposals for Youth-led collaborative live installations to be done during the S’More Guestbored event on Friday December 15th, 2023. Selected projects will be allotted a $200 materials budget to carry out their idea. Please read the information below thoroughly to hopefully answer all the questions you may have. Eligibility: 

Must be between the ages of 14 and 19

Must be a resident of the city of Buffalo.

Must be able to attend the event on December 15th.

What is a collaborative installation? 

This can be in any art form; poetry, music, painting, photography, digital media, etc. It can be a collaborative painting, a collective poem, a wall of portraits, a stack of balloons, the possibilities are endless. Please think about how art and culture make community as well as considering the following:

 

• It must be collaborative! Meaning it has to be geared to utilize people at the event to help, build, or be a part of the installation/process.

 

• You can apply as an individual or a team of no more than four (4) folx.

 

• Must be completed within the 2 hour event time frame

 

• Must be thoughtful and engaging  AND must look cool!

What we need from you:

For the proposal you will need to submit:

 

• A title for the project/installation

• *Project Description (no more than 3-4 paragraphs, can be shorter if you're good) explaining the project and how you will include people and install in our space. Each project will be given an approx 8ft x 8ft wall/floor space to utilize how they see fit. 

• A sketch/design of the proposed project (doesn’t need to be super detailed or fancy, just give us an idea of what you are envisioning)

• A list of materials needed alongside an estimated cost. ($200 is what we are able to support)

• Contact information: A valid email address and phone number for the primary contact person.
