Godfrey's World

This interdisciplinary workshop series invited young artists in Buffalo to explore creative practice through painting, printmaking, textile design, and fiber art—disciplines rooted in the legacy of Wilhelmina Godfrey. Developed in collaboration with the Burchfield Penney Art Center and aligned with the museum’s retrospective exhibition of Godfrey’s work, the project connected youth artists with professional artists who guided hands-on exploration across mediums. The resulting exhibition showcases their experiments, process, and collective expression—offering a vibrant reflection on learning, legacy, and the power of making art in a community championed by Wilhelmina Godfrey.
